We are a pioneer African organization that is working to secure environmental sustainability through effective, long-term solutions to disaster risks through the development of resilience enhancement actions vital for adaptive capacity and reduction of vulnerability.

Founded in 2018, IDRRUR is led by a board of trustees of mostly reputable women and development veterans who prioritize local actions that enhances a sense of self-worth amongst communities and indigenous people.

Aim

The aim of the organization is to provide effective, long-term solutions to disaster risks and extreme weather events, especially the development of resilience enhancement actions to build adaptive capacity, reduce vulnerability, and bolster resilience.

 

Our Objectives

1. To support the implementation of prioritized resilience actions in resource -rich but distressed and poor communities.

2. To strengthen the capacity of these communities to respond to climate change and natural hazards using indigenous knowledge, science, and appropriate technology.

3. To support the implementation of resilience actions that target women and youths in the communities.

4. To strengthen institutional arrangements to respond to climate change and natural disasters through improved partnership and knowledge management.
